Health Data Is the Most Valuable Vertical — Here's Why

Ask any research team what data would move their model the most and the answer is almost always the same: real, longitudinal, consented health data. It is scarce, expensive, and tightly regulated — which is exactly why it is the most valuable vertical on the marketplace and the one with the strictest rules.

Value comes from scarcity and consent

Most health data is either locked inside institutions or scraped without permission. Neither is usable for a buyer that has to defend where its training or inference data came from. Data that is owned by the person it describes, sold with explicit consent, and traceable to that consent is a different asset class — it is defensible.

Owner-only, consent-gated

Health listings cannot be created through the ordinary listing flow. They exist only through a dedicated consent API: the data owner attests to ownership and consent before a listing is ever live. There is no path for a third party to list someone else's health data, by design.

  • Only the data owner can create a health listing, via the signed consent flow.
  • Buyers must attest to permitted use before a purchase is allowed.
  • De-identification is offered at defined tiers — not free-form, not improvised.
  • There is no x402 or open-offer path for health data; the guardrails are non-negotiable.

De-identification tiers

Rather than let sellers hand-roll anonymization, health data is offered at a small, fixed set of de-identification tiers so both sides know exactly what is and is not included. That keeps the promise legible: a buyer knows what it is getting, and a seller knows what it is releasing.

The most valuable data carries the most responsibility. Consent is not a feature we added; it is the gate you must pass to list at all.

The rules here are intentionally stricter than any other vertical. That is not friction for its own sake — it is what makes the resulting data worth buying. A market that treats health data casually produces data no serious buyer can use. A market that treats it seriously produces the most valuable listings it has.
